20MnCr5 and Case-Hardening Applications
Jain Steels Group supplies 20MnCr5 alloy steel round bars for gears, pinions, shafts and automotive or engineering components. The grade is commonly selected where a hard, wear-resistant case and a tougher core are required after a controlled downstream case-hardening process. Final material selection and heat treatment must be approved by the buyer's engineer.
Component performance depends on the ordered material condition, machining route and the downstream carburising and heat-treatment cycle. Jain Steels Group does not substitute a grade or heat-treatment recommendation for the buyer's drawing and applicable standard.
