Process summary

The published Jain Steels Group route covers steel melting, refining, continuous casting, controlled cooling, inspection and dispatch. The buyer’s grade, standard and acceptance plan determine the order-specific controls.

1. Steel melting and chemistry planning

The required grade and standard establish the chemistry target. Raw-material selection and melt practice should be planned against the approved purchase specification rather than a broad label such as alloy, carbon or mild steel.

2. Refining and composition control

Refining is used to bring the heat within the required chemistry and quality plan. The applicable sampling, analysis and acceptance requirements should be agreed for the order and reported in the required certificate format.

3. Continuous casting

The prepared steel is cast into the required square section. Jain Steels Group publishes 80 × 80, 100 × 100, 125 × 125 and 160 × 160 mm square billet sizes; final grade, size, length and availability remain subject to enquiry review.

4. Cooling, identification and traceability

Cooling and handling should protect the agreed product condition. Heat or batch identification must connect the billet to inspection records and the material test certificate when traceability is required.

6. Dispatch planning

Quantity, bundle or identification requirements, destination and requested delivery programme should be included in the enquiry. Jain Steels Group reports production capability of approximately 4,000 tonnes per month and up to 50,000 tonnes annually, subject to product mix, size, grade, maintenance and order programme.
